- Range Management Specialist
Primary Research Interests:
Sheri studies the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of agricultural systems with an eye toward tradeoffs, to help producers, consumers, and policymakers make well-informed decisions. She is currently evaluating the tradeoffs of supply chain options from Southwestern pastures to dinner plate, as well as opportunities for recycling manure nutrients from animal feeding sites into surrounding “manuresheds” that can use surplus manure nutrients instead of expensive commercial fertilizers. Sheri is developing sustainability indicators in the Long-Term Agroecosystem Research network (LTAR), because indicators can help us understand how agricultural systems perform in relation to important goals. She is a member of the Canyonlands Research Center's Science Committee and the Co-Director of the Sustainable Southwest Beef Coordinated Agricultural Project.
