AbstractThe effects of mild inbreeding on weaning weight and grade of range Hereford calves were analyzed. Partial regression coefficients were estimated for certain factors which effect weaning weight and grade. The factors which could be studied and which were assumed to affect weaning weight and grade were age of calf in days, sex, size of dam at 18 months, inbreeding of the calf and inbreeding of the dam. The study included calves sired by 34 bulls over a 14 year period.
