Abstract

Based on the observations of Erodium texanum and the literature, I hypothesized that the density and biomass of E. texanum would be higher around the nest discs of Pogonomyrmex rugosus because of higher soil nutrient levels. Elevated soil nutrients at the edges of mounds of seed harvesting ants have been described in other areas.
