AbstractThe effect of grazing on vine mesquite (Panicum obtusum H.B.K.) was studied on a playa lake on the New Mexico State University Research Ranch between June 20, 1975, and October 11, 1975. The playa was about 40 acres, but the total fenced area was about 72 acres, i.e., the playa was encompassed within the total study area.... Stem plant material production was significantly different (P<.05) between the control and the north or south pasture. There was no significant difference between the stem production in the north and south pastures.
