AbstractOnly a few studies have compared the performance of two breeds of cattle on rangelands of the United States. Although Herefords are the dominant breed in the Southwest, cattle with some Brahman blood may be better adapted to the hot, arid environment. This study was conducted to determine the differences, if any, in performance of Hereford and Santa Gertrudis cattle on rangeland.
